IzhMash is the soviet military plant, there`s more then all is classified as "top secret". Prototypes are often made by hand, in single copies, and destroyed or in the process of testing, or after testing. There is IMHO impossible to find reliable detailed information about them.

At first time for prototypes, most likely partly used removable parts from AKM maybe with some modifications. And removable parts serial AK-74 early release had very minor differences from the removable parts serial AKM later release.
